Cause Description

Mary's Meals is a global movement that sets up school feeding programmes in the world's poorest communities, where hunger and poverty prevent children from gaining an education.

Overview

Mary's Meals provide one daily meal in a place of education, to attract chronically hungry and poor children into a classroom where they receive an education that can, in the future, be their ladder out of poverty. It's a simple idea but, it works.

It costs just 15.60 to feed a child for a whole school year with Mary's Meals.  For many children, Mary's Meals may be the only meal they will receive that day.

Mary's Meals began feeding 200 children in one school in Malawi in 2002 and now, fifteen years on, we are feeding 1,230,171 children in their place of education in 15 countries across 4 continents.

Where Your Money Goes

We are committed to spending at least 93 cent of every 1 you donate on our charitable work, and are very careful to keep our running costs as low as we can. We do this by welcoming volunteers into every aspect of the organisation, by encouraging donations in kind of goods and services (e.g. new office furniture), and not wasting money on anything that is not absolutely necessary.
