Our Values
The Mercy Foundation was formed just 8 years ago, and in its eight years of fundraising, has made a transformative contribution to the Hospital.
In 2015 alone, over €793,900 worth of equipment and services was provided to The Mercy raised through the generosity of the public through events, appeals and partnerships from people who care about the integral part The Mercy plays in the life of Cork and its people.
Right now we urgently need your support for the following:
The Mercy Cancer Appeal - €876,000

The Mercy Kids + Teens Appeal - €43,000
It is vital that when a child is ill, that they and their parents and siblings have access to the best care, facilities and support. Funds you donate will be invested in critical areas of our paediatric services. The Mercy has a 28 bed paediatrics ward that caters for both medical and surgical care, and we constantly strive to ensure that every child has a comfortable stay at The Mercy.
The Mercy provides dedicated paediatric inpatient medical and surgical care, neurology and disability care, haematology and oncology care as well as outpatient services. The Mercy also provides a mobile service called POONS to administer treatment to children battling cancer in the child's home. Funds you donate will be invested in critical areas of the paediatric services including bereavement counselling and support for children costing €43,000.
The Mercy Stroke Appeal - € 100,000
Ten thousand people will suffer from a stroke this year, and unfortunately 2,000 will die as a result. Treating a stroke victim as quickly as possible is vital in saving lives and reducing disabilities. The Mercy Stroke unit is one of the leading facilities of its kind in Ireland. Funds donated by you will help fund essential equipment for both the diagnosis and treatment of stroke as well as resources for our speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy staff.
