Dundrum Arch Club

Dundrum Arch Club is a social club for people age 17+ with an intellectual disability run on a voluntary basis. We have over 100 members and 50 volunteers and meet on a weekly basis in Ballinteer Community School, Dublin 16. We are in existence for over 40 years and run a variety of activities each week. For many of our members this is their only social outlet per week.

where your money goes

As a voluntary organisation we rely on fundraising and donations. We also apply for grants and run our our bag packing, cycleamile, cake sales events throughout the year. Funds raisied go towards the running of our club, our annual trip away, concerts, movie nights and helps fund many of our parties we run during the year eg Halloween, Christmas and Valentines.

history

Our club was set up over 40 years ago by a small number of parents who couldn't find a social outlet for their children with intellectual disabilities. It has grown from 5 members to over 100 today and without it, many of our members wouldn't have any social outlet. Our club focuses on the social side but we also have sports, arts and crafts, bingo and our weekly disco. Strong and lifelong friendships are formed.
