Dublin Rape Crisis Centre

General information
The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre offers services to all people who are affected by any form of sexual violence.

Preventing and healing the trauma of rape and sexual abuse.

The Dublin Rape Crisis Centre offers support and counselling for people affected by rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment or childhood sexual abuse. The services include operating the national 24-hour helpline, providing one to one counselling, accompanying survivors to Garda station and court, and offering training courses. We advocate for law and public policy that respects the voice of survivors and that prevents and addresses sexual violence.

Over the past 40 years, we have developed and expanded our services, which include operating the 24-hour National Helpline 365 days a year.  Although the Centre is based in Dublin, we take calls from people from all over the country who have experienced or want to talk about the effects sexual violence.

In the last 40 years the number of people contacting the national 24 hour helpline has increased from 76 in 1979 to over 13,000 in 2019.

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre is the oldest RCC in Ireland, founded in 1979 by a group of women concerned that there was no safe space where those who had survived rape and sexual assault and abuse could get help or support.

All funds raised by our fantastic volunteer fundraisers go to support our frontline services to people affected by sexual violence in Ireland.
