Housing provision, housing advice & information, helping people to make the move out of homelessness, Care & Case Management Services addressing some of the issues which may have contributed to homelessness occurring or may be a consequence of the experience of homelessness; Client accompaniment to help resolve legal issues, access health services and emotional support services. • Emergency accommodation & support providing families with children a place of welcome, warmth, safety and security.

Tinteán was set up as a pilot project in June 1999. The service arose as a result of the Society of Saint Vincent De Paul in conjunction with Waterford Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre, Oasis Women’s Refuge and the Good Shepherd Sisters coming together to address the needs of single homeless women, aged 18 and over, at a time when there was no emergency or transitional supported accommodation for this group in Waterford.  The first resident was accommodated in July 1999.
