Domestic Violence Response

D.V.R. is a rural-based community-led project responding to the issue of domestic violence in Connemara. The project is managed by the board of directors and a management committee and employs four part-time workers.

D.V.R. receives its core funding from the Western Regional Planning Committee on Violence Against Women. Other funders include the Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform and the Department of Social Community and Family Affairs.

Our aim is to identify and respond to the needs of women and children in the rural area of Connemara who are subjected to violence and abuse in the home. We aim to develop long-term responses that work towards the elimination of domestic violence.
