Herbertstown National School (Scoil Baile an Aird) are seeking to raise significant funds to transform the outdoor facilities for the children of the school and to enhance a planned extension.

In support of this cause, Pedal to the Peak is a major challenge being undertaken by the parents and staff of Herbertstown NS. A group of 7 parents and 1 teacher aim to travel from the lowest point in Ireland to the highest point in under 24 hours. This involves a cycle from the lowest point, the North Slob in Wexford, to Carrauntoohil in County Kerry. Following this 270KM journey the group will then hike to the top of Ireland. No one has ever attempted or completed this challenge before! On the same day, a group of 40+ parents and staff will also hike to the top of Carrauntoohil.

Pedal to the Peak aims to raise funds to improve the outdoor play areas of the school. This will transform the exercise and PE opportunities all year round for the children of Herbertstown NS. A percentage of the funds raised will also be donated to two childrens’ charities – the Clíona Foundation and Crumlin Children’s Hospital.

where your money goes

Funds raised will go to enhancing a planned extension to accommodate an additional classroom, as well as providing outdoor facilities for all the children of the school. A portion of proceeds will also go to two children's charities; Crumlin Children's Hospital and the Cliona Ring Foundation.
