Online Charity & Non Profit Fundraising Services

Wells of Life is dedicated to creating awareness of and fundraising for the alleviation of the problem of lack of access to clean water for people in rural Uganda, particularly in the Mityana/Mubende region.  There are two options in relation to supplying water to a community, a refurbished well or a new greenfield site well. .  If there is an old disused malfunctioning well it can be refurbished at a cost of approximately $4000 or €3300*.  For this all the equipment is replaced with stainless steel components and the well is flushed out which returns the well to full and above all safe functionality.  If it is a greenfield "new" well there is a greater cost involved. Each new well costs $8000 or €6600 * to survey and drill.  All of these wells will benefit anywhere between 1000 and 1500 people for the next 20 years.
