Narrative 4 Ireland wants to bring empathy education to the heart of every secondary school in Ireland. Our evidence based model is replicated from a successful programme in the USA- "Narrative 4 The Story Exchange"  This programme based on the principles of circle work has been found to increase wellbeing in the classroom and address issues such as bullying and poor youth mental health. Our programme builds resilience by building peer support in the classroom.  Being a teenager in secondary school can be difficult- the Story Exchange gives young people some key life skills. The Programme has been featured on RTE, Irish Examiner, Irish Times and the British Guardian.

Our work is proven to help participants see things from other people’s viewpoints, and build empathy within themselves.

Narrative4 are a not for profit organisation that aims to build empathy in young people by using the Story Exchange model and the telling of stories to help people connect and see life and experiences through the eyes of another. We train teachers, youth and community workers to run our programme in their schools and organisations. We believe storytelling is the perfect medium for connecting people and by telling our stories we can feel closer, heard and more filled with empathy for each other.

Narrative 4 Ireland was established in 2016 in Limerick Ireland. It replicated a successful USA model that trained educators in a circle work technique that broke down barriers and addressed issues such as racism and bullying in the classroom. In Ireland we have trained 300 secondary school teachers and youth workers as facilitators.  We want to bring empathy to the fore of youth education in Ireland and get into every school in Ireland.

All of the monies raised goes towards the training programmes  and youth projects we run. Join us in our mission of  bringing empathy skills to young people using proven techniques.  Our aim is to reach as many young people as possible. More facilitators, More Story Exchanges, More Empathy.
