The Alzheimer Society of Ireland

Dementia presents one of the greatest population health challenges both here in Ireland and globally. It affects almost 55,000 people and touches the lives of 50,000 carers and hundreds of thousands of family members. We in turn, offer hope, as well as much needed practical support and donations such as yours go such a long way in helping us to provide services to those who really need them.

As a national voluntary organisation, The Alzheimer Society of Ireland offers a range of specialist services which include day care centres, home care services and carer support groups throughout the country as well as two respite care centres. In addition, our National Helpline offers information and support to people with dementia, their families and carers.

Our services operate using the philosophy of person centred care - where the person with dementia and their carer is placed at the centre of the care service, respecting the rights of the person with dementia, so that they are actively involved in making any decisions about their care.
