Chronic Pain Ireland

Chronic Pain Ireland (CPI) is dedicated to providing essential information and support to those living with chronic pain, along with their families and friends. In Ireland, an estimated 13% to 33% of the population struggles with chronic pain—a condition that has historically been misunderstood, under-diagnosed, and neglected.

CPI advocates for better education and awareness within the medical profession, ensuring that chronic pain is recognized and treated with the seriousness it deserves. Our services include nationwide information meetings, guest speaker events, awareness campaigns, and self-management workshops. Additionally, we offer a quality newsletter, telephone support, and an informative website to assist those in need.

CPI actively works with key stakeholders to advocate for multidisciplinary treatment centers, improved healthcare services, and changes to the educational curriculum, so healthcare professionals are better equipped to diagnose, treat, and manage chronic pain.

Over the years, CPI has demonstrated leadership in Ireland and across Europe by raising awareness of chronic pain and promoting innovative approaches to managing the condition. Recent advancements in global research, both physiological and psychological, have significantly enhanced our understanding of chronic pain, emphasizing the importance of continued study and treatment.
