At Down Syndrome Galway, we aim to provide information, support and friendship to people with Down syndrome and their families in Galway City and County, working towards an improved quality of life with respect and acceptance of people with DS as valued members of their community.
We recognise the importance of early intervention and developing communication ability.
We aim to create opportunities for social and personal inclusion and integration across the age spectrum.

We take a "from birth to throughout your life" approach for our members with Down Syndrome. So we have parentlink as a contact when your child is born, then coffee mornings and information talks to gain support by meeting other families, educational advice and support throughout the primary and post-primary years from our Galway Resource Officer and we are working on an ability and employment programme for the adult years.
where your money goes
All proceeds from this event go to providing vital educational and social services to over 100 families in Galway city and county. We run workshops, classes, summer camps, coffee mornings and information talks for both members and parents. We employ a Galway Resource Officer to help support when it comes to educational needs as well as providing information throughout the lifetime of a child or adult with DS.
