Scoil Moling Glynn - St. Mullins

Attention all community members! Our beautiful school in the village of Saint Mullins has been at the heart of our community since 1829, providing generations of children with a safe and happy place to learn and play. Now, we have an incredible opportunity to make our school even better. In 2022, we were approved for a grant to build a playground on our grounds. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to create a space where our children can continue to make happy memories for years to come. However, to receive the full grant of €44,998 from our local county council, we need to raise an additional €5000. This is where we need your help! We urge all members of our community to come together and support this important project. Whether you can donate a small amount, volunteer your time, or organize a fundraising event, every contribution counts.Think about the impact that this new playground will have on our community. It will not only benefit our current students but also future generations of children who will attend our school. It will be a space where our children can play, learn, and grow together. So, let's make this happen. Let's show our children that we believe in them and that we are committed to providing them with the best possible learning environment. Together, we can raise the additional funds needed for the playground and make our school an even more wonderful place for our children and future generations. Thank you for your support, and please share this message with your friends and family.

where your money goes

Dear Parents,

We are excited to announce that we are raising funds for a new outdoor playground for our school. To achieve this, we have set up a Parents Association account where all donations will go directly. Once all funds have been raised, we will hand over the amount to the school for the construction of the playground.

Your generous donations are vital to the success of this project, and we appreciate any amount you can give. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to providing our children with a safe and enjoyable outdoor space.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school community.

Best regards, Parents Association Committee

history

Scoil Moling is a national school located in the village of St. Mullins, County Carlow, Ireland. The school has a rich history dating back to 1829 when it was first established as a hedge school in the local area. It was named after St. Moling, a renowned Irish saint who was known for his piety and wisdom.

The original school building was a small, one-room structure made of stone, with a thatched roof and earthen floor. The teacher at that time was paid by local parents who could afford to send their children to school. The teacher, in turn, provided education to local children who couldn't afford to pay.

Over the years, the school grew in popularity, and in 1859, the Sisters of Mercy took over the management of the school. The school was expanded, and a new building was constructed in 1900 to accommodate the increasing number of students. The new building was a two-story structure made of red brick, and it featured separate classrooms for boys and girls.

In the 1960s, the school was further expanded, and new classrooms were added to accommodate the growing population of students. Today, Scoil Moling National School is a modern, well-equipped school that provides education to students from the surrounding area.

The school has a strong tradition of academic excellence and is committed to providing its students with a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment. It is a vital part of the local community and has played a significant role in the education and development of generations of children in St. Mullins and the surrounding areas.
