Aoife is 28 years young and dealing with stage 4 incurable cancer. The original diagnosis of Stage 2 Lung Cancer came in July 2022 having detected a 3.5cm tumour in her lung.

Aoife, originally from Bray Co Wicklow, now living in Co. Laois, has come through an intense treatment plan of radiation therapy, chemotherapy and immunotherapy after doctors revealed it had spread significantly. It has been an invasive process and she has remained warriorlike throughout.

Unfortunately, none of the therapies have been successful so far, and the cancer is still spreading. Aoife is currently awaiting results of an MRI scan to assess performing surgery on her spine. It’s possible that no further medical treatment is available due to the proximity of the tumour to the spinal cord.

As you can imagine, this takes a toll mentally, physically, emotionally as well as financially. Aoife has not been able to work and we (her family) have set up this fund to find an alternative answer to the failed medical therapies thus far.

Update:6th March 23 - Aoife is currently recovering in The Matter Hospital after having emergency surgery on her spine after a fracture was detected. Despite being in a lot of pain, Aoife, as always is remaining strong and positive and is looking forward to getting home to recover and heal.
