Barnardos

Barnardos, Ireland’s leading children’s charity, works to give vulnerable children a better chance. Last year alone, Barnardos worked with more than 26,000 children and families across 54 projects and centres in the heart of communities across Ireland. Our core work supports children and their families affected by traumatic life events such as the impact of poverty, abuse, neglect, bereavement, separation and mental health challenges. Through our centres, we offer a wide variety of services including Early Years intervention; Breakfast Clubs and After School programmes; critical family support services; a Roots of Empathy school programme; bereavement and post-adoption services. Our work supports children to achieve their milestones and develop resilience to help them overcome any challenges they may face. Barnardos also provide services in family homes strengthening parenting skills; in schools developing social and emotional skills to support learning; and in community settings connecting families and local supports.

overview

Barnardos' mission is to deliver services and work with families and communities to transform the lives of vulnerable children and families affected by adverse childhood experiences. Our services are situated in the heart of local communities.  Every child needs to be safe, they need somewhere comfortable to call home and to be able to reach their full potential.
