We will be developing a 4 sided 5,500 capacity modular stadium on 3 sides (very similar to Salford City) while completing the under construction west stand.

The current phase of works is targeted to provide the minimum level of finish to get the stadium functional whilst complying with the planning regulations. Further works will be required in the future to complete the fit out of the spaces being built.

The club has instructed the design team to progress to final designs of the modular stadium  we will also re-engage the design team to complete the requirements for the planning process. This process will take 2 months to complete. In order to fund the entire project the Club must be in funds and pay the contractor before being able to claim back from the Department of Sport which is why we need to ramp up on fundraising activities now in the coming weeks.

The main contractor for the stadium remains the original contractor Joe McMenamin and Sons, Carrs Architects from Ballybofey lead the Design Team.

We are asking all people in the Northwest, Donegal people home and abroad, the Football family in Ireland and worldwide to support our project. This is our 70th year, we are a fan owned club, representative of our community, this is a once in a generation opportunity but we need your help to deliver it. The Club is targeting to raise €250,000 from fundraising to start the design phase and a further €250,000 to complete the modular structure build in 2024. Fit out and completing the stadium will be done in 2026.

Bridging Finance

For cashflow purposes the club are seeking assistance with bridging finance which will be asset backed, if anyone is in a position to assist with funding for a loan for 24 months please contact the club secretary at secretary@finnharps.

history

We have previously looked at redeveloping Finn Park, in 1997 and 2003 but the challenge of funding the development and the suitability of Finn Park itself to meet the required UEFA licencing standards made it impossible.

In 2008 the Club started work on a greenfield site 500 meters away across the river in Stranorlar, over €1m has been spent on works and professional fees to date, work stopped in 2014 due to the recession.

In recent years Finn Harps have received derogations in licencing with its floodlights, seating, disability access etc for not meeting the threshold. This is why the development of the new stadium is so important.
