Grantstown Community Village
We are a non-profit organisation that provides day care services to senior citizens and clients with intellectual, mental or physical disabilities. We offer companionship, medical assistance, physical activities and education and continued learning. In addition to our on-site services we also offer community outreach through our meals on wheels service. We encourage and promote community spirit where all participants can feel a sense of belonging, inclusiveness, unity and value. Grantstown Community Village is a charity that helps people by providing an array of services in our Day Care Centre, sheltered housing and a community service to help those who need it most. Our doors are open to anyone who needs support.
overview
At Grantstown we work to combat isolation within our community, particularly for senior citizens and people with limited mobility or mental/physical disabilities by giving them a sense of community and belonging, and providing activities to stimulate and engage them. Our services include providing hot meals (on site & meals on wheels), companionship, activities (e.g. social evenings, yoga, horticulture) medical assistance (e.g.physiotherapy, chiropody, nurse) and support. Our objective is to keep people in their own homes for as long as is possible without isolation and to help them have an enjoyable, happy, healthy retirement.
where your money goes
All money raised will go back into our services to help those most in need of support. People like Larry....Larry came to Grantstown a while ago. He lived locally and had been on his own since his wife passed away. Larry says.... "I enjoy the company immensely and I like playing cards & bingo in the centre. Everyone is so good to me & the meals are powerful. I would advise people to come to Grantstown as there’s so much going on. You don’t have to be an expert at anything – just give it a go"
Audrey & Gerry came to live in Grantstown last year due to Gerrys failing health followinga recommendation from a friend...“It has changed our life – the Nurses & Staff are all helpful and always ready to assist. We feel like were in a holiday camp, we feel so safe and we are sleeping well again at night. We encourage people to come and see for themselves”.
Help us to help people like Larry, Audrey & Gerry. Maybe someday we could help you or a loved one, but for now we do need support. Please, if you can, make a donation to us to help people like Joe, or sign up for a monthly donation to help us to help the isolated in our community.
