Limerick Suicide Watch

We are a suicide prevention group based in Limerick City who patrol the bridges and the banks of the River Shannon at night, helping people who are in distress or who may be feeling suicidal.

where your money goes

To fund vital equipment, training, insurance, maintenance of our base/equipment and to ensure all our volunteers are equipped with the necessary life saving equipment.

During the coming months we will be working hard to grow the patrol to bigger numbers and more nights.   Any additional funds that we receive at this time will be used to work towards the securing of a permanent home for Limerick Suicide Watch and used to fund other potential projects that fall within our scope including awareness around mental health and suicide  prevention .   Thanks to the generosity of the public we at Limerick Suicide Watch would like to take this opportunity to let people know that we have adequate funds to cover our operational costs for the coming 1-2 year period.  This includes patrol equipment and gear, full insurance for our members, continuous training, and the day to day running of the office and base.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everybody that has helped and supported LSW and has made it the success that it is today.

Limerick Suicide watch established May 2016. We currently have 70 dedicated volunteers, with 2 high profile Solicitors as trustees and Olympic Rower Sinead Lynch as Ambassador.
