Mohill Historical Society

Mohill Historical Society is a volunteer group working to preserve, promote and share the history of Mohill and the surrounding area.

overview

On 18 March 1923, Dr Paddy Muldoon was shot and killed at Bridge Street, Mohill. Three men and a priest were implicated in the murder. In the aftermath, it was clear that the IRA, church and major figures in the emerging state all colluded in some way to cover up the killing. No one was ever charged.

One hundred years later, on 18 March 2023, Mohill & District Historical & Heritage Society traced Dr Muldoon's final footsteps with a public walk, short film, talks and music.

If you liked the event and the film, please consider making a contribution to Mohill Historical Society so that we can continue bring history to life in Mohill. Thank you!
