This is Cian Reddy. Age 22. He has just turned Pro (Professional Boxer)

Cian is the Son of Geraldine Ryan (the author of this crowd funder) and Owen Reddy, brother of Danielle and Grandson of Noeleen and Liam Ryan from Doon, in Co. Offaly. He hails from Mountmellick in County Laois.

He is only the second man to ever go pro from the county of Laois. He has worked so hard for this opportunity and typically trains 6 days a week - twice most days! He has waited his whole young life for this career milestone.

When not boxing, you may find him on tik-tok, singing duets with his mam (and very occasionally acting the eejit). But he takes boxing seriously !!

Cian's debut professional fight is taking place in the Cedar Hotel in Bradford, Leeds on the 20th of July 2024.

We are getting behind him and drumming up some support for this immense milestone, and also thereafter to give him the start he needs to take professional boxing by storm.

Starting out in boxing initially is about fundraising, ticket sales, and finding supports of any kind in your first few fights. Everything a developing career professional needs, has to be paid for at considerable expense.

Coaches, Coaching, Professional Sessions, Nutritionists, Diet considerations, Travel for training, Gear, Doctors, Scans, and even the cost of employing the cut man in the corner of the ring, are costs which are borne by the fighter, to name just a few.

Fight nights are the chance to recoup a portion of this cost. But these events alone do not guarantee that all the necessary expenses are covered.
