In Remembrance and Celebration of Rory Kenneth Fahy Callanan - A fundraiser for Kilcrohane Community Playground

Thank you for taking the time to visit our memorial page for Rory. On December 9th 2023 our lives changed forever when Rory died following an accident. We as a family wish to celebrate Rory’s upcoming 28th birthday on the 30th March , by organising a fundraiser, where all proceeds raised will be donated to the upgrade of Kilcrohane playground, which is owned by the Community.

Rory loved his trips to Kilcrohane and made so many friends here, young and old, especially when he lived here full time throughout covid, working from home and studying for college online. Rory loved walking down to Kilcrohane pier for a swim, going out kayaking or simply sitting taking in all the beautiful views, with many hikes out to the lighthouse and drives with Sara over the Goats Path.

On one of Rory’s first trips to Kilcrohane in 2016, he walked his sister Clodagh and brother Andrew to the playground, where they still go now as teenagers to play basketball, tennis and to kick a ball around. From our home we can hear the fun & laughter from children in the playground & it would mean so much to honour Rory while giving back to our community as a way of thanks for their unwavering support, kindness and friendship shown to us in the past few months.

On 30th March we will host a gathering in Eileen’s bar, Kilcrohane from 8pm for family, friends and the community to come together to remember our beautiful, forever young Rory x
