Friends of Barry has been created to support our friend Barry Walsh, his wife and young family.

Barry, his wife Marlene and their two children live in Ballina, Co. Mayo. Barry was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease in December 2021.

Barry originally from London moved to Ireland, where he has close family ties, after finishing his education to start his working life. He is married to Marlene (nee Dever from Mulranny, Co. Mayo) and they have two children, a girl aged 7 and a boy aged 5. Barry is the youngest son of Jimmy (Walsh, Tooreen, Carrowmore Lacken) and Margaret (nee Munnelly, Carbad, Killala) whom still live in London. Barry is the youngest of three siblings with his older brothers, Kevin living at Carbad, Killala and Seamus in the UK.

Barry initially worked in the haulage business, then worked for 13 years in Judges Garage, Ballina. In more recent years he worked for a period of time in Coca-Cola Ballina and Ballina Motor Care.

Monies raised from this Idonate page will go towards house adaption, medical care and equipment for the management of his future needs to continue living at home. A donation will also be made to the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association.
