In a nutshell, I want to give the people of Sligo a few laughs and support the local economy at a seasonally quieter time of the year, and I want to support people working in the Live Entertainment Sector. With your help, I can achieve all this. (Funding suggestions at bottom of this piece)
Please note, whilst I can work off a skeleton staff, with your help, I can support more staff in the live industry and help share the festival workload.

2019 was the debut year of my festival and was an amazing success. This was totally down to the goodwill of the Sligo people and all who travelled.
I am a one man operation (with help from friends and family), there's no big office, team, grants (as of yet).
I'm a huge comedy fan and always wanted a festival of comedy in town! 2019 was a dream to see how successful it was, then Covid messed things up in 2020 and restricted us in 2021, and I'm now finally hoping to have an unrestricted festival back in action.
My plan is to have a multi venue festival spread across the town. The more financial support I get, the bigger the festival. I personally couldn't gamble running a huge number of gigs all off my own back, so I'd like people to directly support some of the acts and crew. Rather than have to haggle down fees to make the festival viable, with your support I can pay everyone more than a fair fee and give work to lots of people.
I also want to see cafes, restaurants bars and hotels busy because of the festival. The main aim is to benefit Sligos' economy during a time of year that may normally be quieter.
Thanks,
Brendan
Some ways you can help:
Whether you want to donate €5 or €1000, everything is gratefully received. I know some businesses may also want to support with some more substantial so here are some suggestions:
-Support the crew: In general Door Staff, Sound Engineers, Artist Liaisons and general crew fees can range from around €80-150, so perhaps you might like to support these. The more of these I get, the more gigs I can put on.
-I'd love to be able to hire Marketing, Promotion and Production staff so that I don't have to do all myself. The festival takes hours of work and I'd gladly spread the work and the earnings. (Again, around €80-150 donations will cover a number of days to cover these.)
-I'd like to do local paper and radio ad campaigns, so if you are interested, in general a budget of €200-1000 would cover such campaigns depending on size. Anyone wishing to do this, please email me also at [email protected] so you get mentioned in same ads.
These are just suggestions, and I envisage the larger fees would be more targeted at larger businesses who may like to support. Remember, even spreading the word of the festival on Social Media and simply buying tickets for the gigs helps greatly too.
Thanks again,
Brendan
