Steve adored design. It was his world.
He worked in the design industry in the UK, Australia and Ireland all his life - in agencies including Saatchi and Saatchi, Newell amp; Sorrell, FHA, Brand Union, Interbrand, Genesis and RichardsDee. Steve led design programmes for brands such as; Camelot amp; the UK National Lottery, Lexus, Selfridges, British Airways, The Sydney Olympics, VW, Bank of Ireland, Kerry and the GAA ndash; to name just a few. nbsp;He was a mentor and inspiration to those fortunate enough to work with and learn from him.
Nine years ago, Steve battled a brain tumour and won. He underwent major surgery and intense radiation, but he never complained ndash; he just got on with life, working with me to raise our beautiful family and continued to work at his beloved craft. Steve adored his two children, Grace and Charlie. Throughout everything, they were his drive to survive.
In 2020, Steve suffered a stroke, which left him unable to work ndash; a vocation he had loved and cherished all his life. Again, he got on with it, he focused on his rehabilitation, got super fit and wrote a book titled lsquo; The Greatest Gifts rsquo;. He also worked hard on design projects for both community and friends, and a large family photography project.
In November 2022 we received the devasting news that two new and aggressive brain tumours had grown. nbsp;Steve knew his time would be short after this recent diagnosis.
In his final days, Steve recounted the many hopes and dreams that he wanted to realise for Grace and Charlie had he had more time. nbsp; This page was set up to help fulfil some of these wishes.
This is a very difficult ask as we are totally devastated at this time of great sadness. But we are supported in the knowledge that Steve would be so grateful of anything we could collectively do to realise his final ambition. This would be of great comfort.
Thank you for helping us to achieve that.
Tara, Grace and Charlie X
