VSA Hospital Fund 2024

During the Summer of 2024, VSA medical student members will be traveling to our partner hospitals to take part in four-week long medical electives within the various departments of the hospitals, gaining as much experience as they can and helping out wherever possible!

Last year, we travelled to hospitals in Zambia and Malawi, countries in desperate need of foreign aid, and brought with us essential medical equipment and medications directly requested by the hospitals. 

The experience gained from working in healthcare settings in different parts of the world is an invaluable asset for any student or working professional, and it's something we encourage everyone to try and develop. 

We host as many fundraisers as we can throughout the year and all of the proceeds from these go directly towards much-needed medical supplies. All flights, accommodation and living expenses are covered by the students themselves! 

Our biggest fundraisers to date are the Galway Student Races on Oct 30th , which we co-oragnize with UG Rugby Club every year, as well as our annual Bed Push on St. Patrick's Day. We will be trying to host as many smaller fundraisers as we can during the year so any support would be greatly apprecited.
