ARC Cancer Support Centres' ‘Torch of Hope’ takes place on Sunday 13th October around Dublin Bay celebrating cancer survivors and honouring those who we have lost through cancer. Hundreds of people who have been affected by cancer come together for an afternoon of fun, reflection, laughter, tears, and great, great memories.
The Torch of Hope is such a unique experience. It's all about showing solidarity and empathy and that we are there for each other. It's a walk suitable for all fitness levels with people able to join in at any point that best suits them along the route. There are more and more people surviving cancer in Ireland than ever before. ARC needs as much support as possible to help us to meet this growing demand by people signing up to take part. All funds raised will go to support our psychological, emotional, practical and educational support to men, women and children affected by cancer and those who care for them. All of our services are completely free of charge.
The ARC Cancer Support Centres' Torch of Hope’ gets underway on Sunday, 13th October with separate groups departing from two locations at around 4pm – the Wooden Bridge in Dollymount on the Northside, and Blackrock Park on the Rock Road on the Southside. Both groups will converge at the Seán O'Casey Bridge over Dublin's River Liffey at approximately 6pm, before a Survivors' Celebration Lap to the nearby CHQ building, where the Torch of Hope closing ceremony will be held. This will be followed by a fantastic evening of entertainment, including a special musical treat from the North Dublin Community Gospel Choir and some surprise celebrity guest appearances!
Torch of Hope 2024 is kindly supported by Hayes Solicitors.
