Jessica was 21 when she tragically lost her life to septicaemia. She had attended her GP in Galway with an extremely sore throat and feeling sick and been sent home with just painkillers and told to rest. They masked the worsening of symptoms and by next day Jessica was rushed into hospital after collapsing. ACT for Meningitis raises awareness of the vast range of symptoms leading to meningitis and septicaemia. It encourages people to trust their instincts... Jessica knew something was wrong but meningitis was not considered by the GP. ACT are there to help the survivor... and the bereaved cope with the aftermath. THIS event is to celebrate the life of Jessica, the happy, funny, loving person who would be here if we had known then ,what we know now ... about meningitis
