Hi everyone,
Last year I got through a tough year with cancer. This year, 12 months later, I am walking the Camino in September in support of all survivors of cancer but specifically in aid of our Nurses for Night Care service at the Irish Hospice Foundation. Not everyone is as lucky as I was to get through serious illness and we want to do as much as we can to give them comfort in the final days. This service gives 10-15 nights of night nursing care to those, with non-malignant illness, who wish to die at home. The service is invaluable and costs about €700,000 per annum to run.
I will walk about 120km (started already - Croagh Patrick done recently) over 6 days. Any help you can give to me is so gratefully received.
I work for the Irish Hospice Foundation - a great charity and Nurses for Night Care is a great cause.
