Dad’s battle with cancer was hard, eventually taking its toll on him and nothing I can do will ever come close to the pain he suffered.  This challenge pushed me both physically and mentally to my limits however, the deep thoughts  of my Dads suffering and my determination to make him proud dragged me through the hard days.  I would greatly appreciate if you would support me in this challenge.  The North Louth Hospice can help other families look after their loved ones by providing care to those in need and this fundraising attempt will help them to continue their hard work.

I am attempting to fundraise as much as possible for the North Louth Hospice who are based in Dundalk, Ireland.  This charity is very close to my heart due to the care they provided to my Dad during his long battle with cancer, a journey which unfortunately came to a sad end on 9th May 2017.   The North Louth Hospice provided my Dad with transport from our home in Knockbridge to the Mater Hospital in Dublin (164km round trip) for several years, which was provided by volunteer drivers, enabling him to receive his necessary cancer treatment.

When we received news from Doctors in March 2017 that there was no further medical treatment they could provide, the North Louth Hospice once again provided an invaluable service to our family.  They provided specialised medical equipment which granted our Dad his wish of returning home, in addition to the guidance of health nurses, palliative care and night nurses.

You can follow my progress on Strava and I will provide monthly updates on here.  Thanks in advance for any donation you can provide to this great charity, every Euro / Pound will be gratefully received.

Thanks for taking time to read my fundraising story.

Best Wishes,

Kevin Mulholland
