I'm taking part in Croagh Patrick for Pádraig on Saturday 06 May 2023 . All funds raised here will go directly to Pádraig to help with his continued rehabilitation.
We were originally meant to complete the hike back in March 2020.... But I guess we all know what happened then. Thank you to all of my original donors, if anyone would like to contribute again, it'd be very much appreciated!
Pádraig, one of my best friends, was knocked from his bike by a truck while on J1 in Cape Cod, shortly following his completion of his undergraduate studies. As a result, he received a severe brain injury which has had a significant impact on his and his family's life. In the seven years since his accident, Pádraig has defied many of the odds by managing to recover significant functions, such as being able to eat without tubes. He no longer needs a tracheostomy and he has recovered a significant amount of motor function. He communicates through using his tongue and is currently struggling to recover more independence and communicative skills. Pádraig and his family need major support and will continue to need this support in the years ahead. His family have sacrificed much to do everything they possibly can and he and they need your help!
Bhí agus tá Pádraig mar bhall iontach gníomhach i saol na Gaeilge. Tá eisean, a chlann agus a chairde iontach buíoch as an dtacaíocht ar fad a fhaigheann sé ó phobal na Gaeilge san ardchathair.
