Thank you for taking the time to visit our fundraising page on iDonate.ie We'll be taking part in Cruach Phádraig do Phádraig (Climbing Croagh Patrick) on Saturday 14th of March 2020.
Pádraig was knocked from his bike by a truck while on J1 in Cape Cod, shortly following the completion of his undergraduate studies. As a result, he received a severe brain injury which has had a significant impact on his and his family's life. In the seven years since his accident, Pádraig has defied many of the odds by managing to recover significant functions, such as being able to eat without tubes. He no longer needs a tracheostomy and he has recovered a significant amount of motor function. He communicates through using his tongue and is currently struggling to recover more independence and communicative skills. Pádraig and his family need major support and will continue to need this support in the years ahead. His family have sacrificed much to do everything they possibly can and he and they need your help!
Bhí agus tá Pádraig mar bhall iontach gníomhach i saol na Gaeilge. Tá eisean, a chlann agus a chairde iontach buíoch as an dtacaíocht ar fad a fhaigheann sé ó phobal na Gaeilge san ardchathair.

About the Cause
Caring for Padraig
Padraig Schaler, a 2013 TCD graduate from Glasnevin, Dublin, acquired a very severe brain injury when he was hit by a van on 27 June 2013 as he cycled to work on Cape Cod. Nobody was ever prosecuted.
He is now living with his family in Dublin. He requires 24-hour care and is fully dependent.
All proceeds go to the Caring for Padraig fund, administered by a Committee independent of the family.
idonate was established in 2011 to assist charities & non profits in fundraising. Our aim is to provide tools for both charities and fundraisers to help raise much needed funds.
