Why Donate?

Dublin Rape Crisis Centre needs your help in continuing its work to prevent harm and heal the trauma of sexual violence. Unfortunately, COVID19 has severely impacted the Centre’s ability to fundraise so it can ensure its work carries on and adapts to the present crisis.

Your support is needed more than ever, especially during this difficult time to continue the work of the DRCC in supporting survivors of rape and sexual abuse.

DRCC‘s statistics show that sexual violence is and always has been a frequent element of wider domestic violence.

Some 20% of callers and clients have suffered adult sexual abuse, including rape, at the hands of their partners or ex-partners

As much as 50% of child rape and other sexual abuse happens within the family setting, making home a dangerous place for some children, and with impacts that can last a lifetime.

In 2018, there were almost 14,000 contacts to DRCC from people seeking support in the short or long-term aftermath of sexual violence, and delivered counselling and therapy to 582 clients.

And those figures are growing each year – a 65% increase in demand for crisis services were recorded between 2016 and 2018. DRCC is also developing new online ways to assist even more people
