And now read the whole story:

Covid is boring, can't go anywhere or do anything, and I've watched all the box sets - at least twice. So... I've started running, building up a good cadence, running whatever the weather around my local 5km restriction zone.

To make things more interesting I bought a new watch a while ago and it has been giving me running suggestions to maintain and improve my fitness level which basically meant that I was running 3-4 times a week. Great - but after a while it really felt like "what is the purpose"- apart from just running for fitness.. and that's when I heard about a local challenge to run 26.2 MILES > EVERY WEEK > in 2021 [AKA - 42KM/1 Marathon distance/Week]

So what's that go to do with you you may ask:
So .. Here I am with 4 weeks done, 173.98 KM's in, no injuries, and I feel that I can maintain this for the year. But I need sponsorship, and now feel I can "stand over" my legs and commit them to your bidding. And while I could just ask people to donate, I feel I can do one better...

... I want to rent my legs out to you. For every €10 you give - I will dedicate that days run to you, name it after you in Strava, and send a report to you with all my stats for the day. I'll even send a photo, or put your photo in strava for the days run. You enjoy a nice relax - and send me to do your bidding. I guarantee a quality run each time!

Every run named in January was "Matty Corr - Afternoon run", everything else can be "insert your name here, call it what you like"

The charity is for LauraLynn Ireland's Children's Hospice, with a target of €500, but I'm hoping to do much better with all of your help.

I'm currently doing 5 x sub 9K runs per week to meet my targets, but expect to move to 15K, 20K and half marathons throughout the year.. each which you can rent my legs for and I will dedicate each run to you.

So - sponsor whatever you wish if you just feel like giving to the cause, otherwise rent my legs - for one day or multiple days - details below:

100% goes to the challenge - just pay online and I'll get in contact or just get running.

More about Ray:

Ray D’Arcy is a long-standing supporter of LauraLynn – Ireland’s Children’s Hospice and he is also an avid runner which is how Ray’s Marathon Challenge was born. Ray decided to set the nation’s running lovers a challenge of clocking up 26.2 miles in a week, every week, for a full year!

Ray is hoping to get 1000 like-minded people to sign up and join his challenge. If every one of those 1000 people raised €500 each throughout the year, that would raise a whooping half a million euro for LauraLynn.

LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice providing hospice and palliative care to children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Last year, 374 children and families from every corner of Ireland availed of LauraLynn care, supports and activities. All funds raised from this challenge will go towards supporting these children and their families.
