I'm ecstatic that Deloitte have provided me with the opportunity to volunteer with Nurture Africa who're doing incredible work in Uganda and making an impact that matters in the community. My area of focus is their health services, doing skilled volunteering in the marketing space. Delighted to be sharing their incredible story with you: Nurture Africa built the first paediatric HIV clinic north of the capital Kampala in 2011. Since then it has developed into a holistic health centre providing comprehensive care including primary health care, maternity, HIV care, prevention of mother to child transmission of HIV, immunisation, cancer screening, family planning to name a few. The health centre extends its health care services to communities in hard to reach areas through outreach programs which involves setting up satellite clinics in the community as well as providing home care health support to families or individuals. The Main Nurture Africa health centre is operating in Nansana which is the biggest municipality in Uganda with a population of approximately 500,000. Overall, the health programme provides health services to over 30,000 vulnerable children and adults a year. I'm excited to begin this journey with Nurture Africa and hope that you'll join me in helping our efforts succeed.
