Thank you for taking the time to visit my fundraising page on iDonate.ie.  I've chosen to fundraise for Cycle Against Suicide, St. Patrick's National School . All funds raised here will go directly to this great causes.

Challenge 555 - A 500km cycle around Mayo over 3 Days, a 5km swim from Roonagh Pier to Clare Island (Day 4) and a 50km Ultra Marathon around Clare Island (Day 5).

Challenge 555 was born out of my mission to spread the word about the powerful impact that sport, exercise and physical activity has on the treatment, management and prevention of depression and other mental health illnesses.  I am living proof of this impact and I often say " if I only knew 20 years ago what I know now". 

Cycle Against Suicide became a perfect fundraising match for this challenge as they badly need funds to keep delivering their evidence based schools programm.  This programme is based on the belief that early intervention is key to the treatment and mangagement of depression and other mental health issues in young people. 

St Patricks National School, Clare Island is a second perfect fit to this challenge as they are badly in need of funds to upgrade their unsafe and inadequate school yard for their students to play.  Exercise and Sport is so powerful to the lives and development of young children and every child has the right to a safe place to play during their precious school years.  The people of Clare Island have offered tremendous support to me in planning this challenge and what better way to give back than to the children of Clare Island.
