Event Details

The Challenge Cycling Club are running an etape on Saturday 28th August. The route is 115km all the way from Claregalway to Kinvara, over to Caraun (did I mention the "baby corker" hill on the way), then into Ballyvaughan and back home again. This will be an incredible journey, a great challenge for myself and all while raising money for a great charity.

All funds raised here will go directly to Down Syndrome Galway Centre in Claregalway where we provide services to our members such as Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy, Parent and Toddler Group, Adult Education course plus much more.
We hope you can help us by donating whatever you can as we receive no state funding. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.

You can also share our page by using the Share options below. This is a great way to show your support.

Many Thanks for your support.

All in a days work! In just 24 hours the challenge cyclists and crew have made the 585km journey from the toe of Ireland at Mizen Head, Co Cork all the way to Malin Head in Co. Donegal. There were the highs from the starting line, the great support along the roads from strangers and family alike. There were also the lows with tiredness, pain and never ending roads. But together they started and together they finished and their journey will remain long in their memories. The first event is over with all members completing the Donegal 555. With bikes rolling out of Letterkenny from the hour of 6am, the mood was upbeat despite the hours of cycling ahead. The weather held up and while it was dark when the bikes finally came home from 3am onwards, the sense of achievement was evident.
