In January 2019, we lost my dear friend and colleague Alan McQuillan. Alan had been feeling unwell for a short while, but due to a lack of awareness of the symptoms of a pulmonary embolism, he sadly and suddenly passed away from a blood clot.
Al was one in a million with a heart of gold and is dearly missed by so many people. In his memory, I’m taking part in the Thrombosis Ireland Beat the Block challenge, which involves walking or running 3km per day in October. Due to a longstanding work commitment at the start of the month, I will be doing my challenge between the 4th of October and the 4th of November, walking 93km in total.
This fundraiser aims to raise both vital funds for Thrombosis Ireland and to raise awareness of pulmonary embolism and its signs. All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.
I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can. Simply click the Donate button above. All donations are processed securely.
Many thanks for your support.
