My name is Aiden  Sheridan I'm 43 year old father of 2 on the 15th of july 2022 I'm going  to attempt to swim the length  of the shannon in aid of the Irish  Cancer society and  East  Galway & Midlands Cancer  support...My motivation for doing this challenge is because Cancer has devastated our family in 2015 my sister Jennifer was diagnosed  with Breast cancer thankfully she has made a full recovery. At the time in 2016 I ran 52 marathon  in 52 weeks in aid of Breast cancer ireland . Why I am mentioning  this  is because in late August 2017 my brother Mark  was diagnosed with cancer and sadly passed away at the start of September 2017 the last chat I had with Mark he jokingly said that because I ran 52 marathons for Jennifer I'd have to do something bigger for him .I told  him we would talk about  it again but sadly we never had the opportunity as he passed  away 2 days later which  was  a total shock to everyone. So in his memory and to raise much need funds for charity. I'm going to swim the Shannon from Dowra  co.cavan all the way to Limerick city all 245km in 14days.To put this challenge  in perspective more people have walked on the moon than have swam  the  lenght  of  the  shannon.   All  funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.I hope you can help me by donating whatever you can.
