The coming weeks will mark the beginning of a fund-raising drive in aid of childhood cancer at Holy Family National School in Tralee. The school is hoping to raise awareness of the illness while also supporting second class pupil Lily-Anna Sebestová who is currently receiving treatment for Rhabobmyosarcoma.
This week Lily-Anna played a celebratory role when she called into the school to officially turn on the Christmas tree lights. She was joined by some of her friends who were delighted to welcome her back.
“Lily-Anna is a treasured pupil of our school and we miss her greatly this year while she is receiving treatment in Dublin. We are launching a number of fundraisers in the coming weeks which will help to raise awareness for childhood cancer. All money raised will go to Lily-Anna’s family to help with all the costs they are currently facing to ensure their little girl receives all the support and help she needs”, said Sarah Breen who was Lily-Anna’s class teacher last year and is also spearheading the fundraising campaign.
