Our combined Goal is to raise funds for the Irish Red Cross Ukrainian Appeal by virtually Paddling the length of the Dnipro River that flows through Ukraine. All 981Kilometres of it!
Please also join us in Kilcullen on Saturday the 19th of March to Paddle or to Pledge your Kilometres for the Fundraiser.We need the support of all Kayakers via this page to donate & to come out and paddle with us or to donate and to pledge your local distance paddled on the Day. Please make a donation and let us know how many Kilometres you will Paddle on Saturday the 19th of March. Paddle with us or Paddle locally with your own friends or Club. We will post a running Tally Update on our Facebook Page and our Goal is to Complete the 981km on the day. Its huge river and we need your help to cover the distance.
Come along to Kilcullen Canoe Club (KCC) between 8am and 8pm on Saturday 19th March and paddle to raise funds for Ukraine.
How to Take Part
- Book a Kayak Ergometer slot so that there is always a Virtual paddler on the water.
- Book one of our river Trip at the Club
- Please Commit to a donation 4 Ukraine.
- Pay online to iDonate (Irish Red Cross) or bring hard cash to KCC.
- Visit us on The Day -Buy Raffle Tickets for Spot prizes.
If you can‘t make it to Kilcullen on Saturday the 19th Of March.
You can paddle on another stretch of water/sea or with your own ergo machine and let us know. If you want you can send in your GPS readings or an image of your ergo output to show off or compare notes! We will Post your Trips here and on our Facebook Page! If you want Email your Trip Photos and Garmin Maps and we will post on our FB Page.
Also happening at Kilcullen Canoe Club on the 19th:
- Morning and afternoon Paddle Trips. Trip 1Carnalway to Kilcullen (Morning 10. Am) and Trip 2 Kilcullen to Athgarvan Weir (Afternoon 2. pm). Level 2 + Certificate required for all water Participants.
- Boats Tryout! Fancy a go in a K1 or K2, a Canadian Canoe - or a Sea Kayak. Demos organised during the day.Level 2 + Certificate required for all water Participants.
- Introductory Forward Paddling Coaching on Erg Kayak Machines.
- At 1.30 pm the club will host a presentation to our 2021 Club prize-winners.
- Tea Coffee & Cake Sales will be available throughout the day.
- Tickets will be sold through the day at KCC for a Prize raffle at the end of the day. There will be some great prizes on offer.
