Saturday the 6th May 2023 marks my 2 year cancer free milestone 🙏
I was diagnosed with mouth cancer on the 12th April 2021. I had major surgery to remove the tumor, neck dissection to remove lymph nodes At St James’s hospital, followed by 6 weeks radiation at St Luke’s, Rathgar, Dublin.
The staff were incredibly kind and supportive to me. I lost my Mam 3 weeks into my treatment. The radiologists, Nurses, physiotherapists, dieticians and admin staff were so accommodating and compassionate.
Attending St Luke’s was an eye opener for me. It made me realise that for many cancer patients like myself, it doesn’t end after the hospital stay. Thats just the beginning. With treatments and after effects of treatments to face. The physical, emotional and mental toll it takes. But the staff at St Luke’s give guidance and support for this.
The staff at St Luke’s see it all every day. They made my
Treatment journey that bit easier and I am so grateful for that.
I ask you all to please support The friends of St Luke’s and donate ☺️
I want to thank all my friends and family who will be joining me on the day, I really appreciate your support 🥰👍
