As many of you will know, our daughter Cassie was diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis in March of this year.
The condition which affects 1 in 10,000 children in Ireland causes inflammation in the joints, pain, tenderness and reduced movement.
The care Cassie continues to receive in Crumlin means that children affected by this disease can lead normal healthy lives as you can see from the profile picture.
Treatment includes steroids, anti inflammatory medication, biologic drugs, physiotherapy and occupational therapy.
Cassie has shown us as a family how derermined she is by not allowing this condition to stop her doing anything, and has inspired me to run the marathon to raise awareness and funds for Crumlin.
