Askeaton Touring Club Charity Cycle - Supporting CUH NEUROSURGERY

Created by CUH (Cork University Hospital) Charity

Askeaton Touring Club was founded by a group of Wyeth employees to help a colleague’s daughter who required medical assistance. These colleagues and friends cycled from Galway to Askeaton and raised just over £12,000. Inspired by this success, every year since then A.T.C. has taken to the road to raise funds for a local Charity. This is our 36th year on the road and to date, we have raised over one million euros.

Askeaton Touring Club have decided to raise money this year at the request of our colleague Paddy Freeney (Electrical Department) who’s 18 year old son Jack underwent treatment for brain surgery (Melanoma & Meningitis) last August in the GA Neurosurgery Department CUH. All money raised will go to this department in acknowledgement of the wonderful care received by Jack.
