A chairde,
As many of you know our dear friend Pádraig was injured in an accident in Cape Cod while he was on a J1 at the beginning of last summer. Since then Pádraig has been in a coma and is currently receiving treatment in a specialist hospital in Hamburg. However there have and are significant costs incurred during his treatment and so I would really appreciate your help to relieve the burden on his family as much as possible.
On April the 12th we are setting off on a two-day sponsored swim off every coastal county (all seventeen!) in Ireland. As Pádraig is a fantastic swimmer himself we believe this is a fitting way for us to help him out! With your help we are aiming to raise as much money as possible, which will go straight into the Caring for Pádraig fund, administered by a committee independent of the family.
More information about what happened can be found on www.caringforpadraig.org and Pádraig's father writes a fantastic daily blog on www.hospi-tales.com if you want to keep up to date on Pádraig's progress.

About the Cause
Caring for Padraig
Padraig Schaler, a 2013 TCD graduate from Glasnevin, Dublin, acquired a very severe brain injury when he was hit by a van on 27 June 2013 as he cycled to work on Cape Cod. Nobody was ever prosecuted.
He is now living with his family in Dublin. He requires 24-hour care and is fully dependent.
All proceeds go to the Caring for Padraig fund, administered by a Committee independent of the family.
