Hey guys,
A friend of mine, Pádraig Schaler, was in an accident in America at the end of June and has been in a coma ever since. He was brought back to Beaumont Hospital in Ireland and four monthsl later was flown to Hamburg to a neuro-rehab facility because of the short supply of beds for neuro-rehab in Ireland.
On the 12th and 13th of April I will be swimming around Ireland! The challenge is to swim for 5 minutes from the coast of every county with a coast (17 counties in total over 2 days). We begin in Balbriggan at 8am on Saturday the 12th and finish in Bray at 8pm Sunday night.
Any money you can donate is very much appreciated!
Padraig Schaler, a 2013 TCD graduate from Glasnevin, Dublin, acquired a very severe brain injury when he was hit by a van on 27 June 2013 as he cycled to work on Cape Cod. Nobody was ever prosecuted.
He is now living with his family in Dublin. He requires 24-hour care and is fully dependent.
All proceeds go to the Caring for Padraig fund, administered by a Committee independent of the family.
