We are three good friends, Bobby Kerr, Frank Cronin and Liam Sheehan. Bobby and Frank are cancer survivors and they were kindly supported by their friend Liam during their ordeal. Now we have decided to grab life and do things!!

First adventure is to climb Pointe Burnaby, a 14,300 ft mountain in the Alps. You may recoginise the name from Greystones! Well a woman called Elizabeth Hawkins Whitshed was from the Burnaby in Greystones and she left for Switzerland to recuperate from an illness in the late 1800's, Whilst living there she saw that women were not mountain climbers but men enjoyed it, Elizabeth stood up as Mna na hEirreann are known to do and started the ladies alpine climbing club, she was such a pioneer that they named an important summit after her. We celebrate her courage, we also celebrate the courage of another Burnaby woman Caroline Dwyer who fought a most amazing battle with cancer but sucummbed. We walk in her honour. Her family have set up a foundation to raise funds for cancer research. 100% of the donations less a small percent for this website will go directly to fund cancer research, there are no admin charges and no overhead. We will walk with 15 others mainly people from Greystones, many of us cancer survivors, we will walk up the mountain for 5 days and stay at snow level for two nights. We have trained for this for some months and climbed most of the mountains of Wicklow. It has been tough but really enjoyable. The cost of the trip is being met by us the participants, your donation is not funding any part of it. We are proud to have received life back and this is our way of giving back.
