This March, we are asking schools, clubs and creches nationwide to host a Lap and Chat. This wellbeing focused initiative is to help children and teenagers open up about their worries, listen to others, reflect on their feelings, while getting out and getting active!

How to complete you Lap & Chat for Childline

You will receive a wellbeing talk from Childline to help your students and children to think about any worries they may have.

Then they simply pair up with a friend and take a few laps around your yard, school or in your local area. During the lap, encourage them to chat about what is on their minds and what may be worrying them. And to not forget to listen to their friends worries too during their lap.

When they come back, they will have their own reflection workbook, for their eyes only. Acting as a diary entry after expressing their worries on their Lap and Chat, they can explore what is on their mind a bit further and how their Lap and Chat helped.

How to take part:

Click the 'START FUNDRAISING' button on this page and register your school or class!
We will provide a virtual school talk, reflection workbook for each participant, an information booklet about our school services and a completion certificate.
Choose a date in March to host your Lap and Chat!
Inform students, parents and teachers by sending them the link to your fundraising page.
Ask each student to donate €5 through your schools fundraising page to take part.
Pair up with someone in your class or school and start your lap!
After you Lap and Chat, complete your workbook.
