The aim is to travel the entire 105 miles of the River Blackwater from the Source to the Sea. The team of five undertaking the journey includes David O Keeffe, John Murt, Daniel Hickey, Danny Dillane and Denis Rahilly. The six day trip will begin, weather permitting on Monday the 23rd of March and finish at the Quays in Youghal at midday Saturday the 28th. The journey will commence with a six mile walk from the source at Muinganine to Ballydesmond Village and from here the kayaks will be used to paddle to Knocknagree. The canadian canoe will be waiting here loaded with supplies and the necessary camping and cooking equipment for the rest of the excursion. The next five days will be spent journeying the river through Kerry, Cork and Waterford with various stops along the way. This is all being done to raise awareness and funds for The BUMBLEance - Children's Ambulance Service.
