Raising funds for Kerry Cancer Support Group

Thank you for taking the time to visit our memorial page for Brendan Conroy.

We have chosen to fundraise for Kerry Cancer Support Group. This amazing charity was very close to Brendans heart. Brendan beat cancer twice and was very grateful to the charity for providing transport from Kerry to Cork to his treatments. He made friends on the bus and it helped shorten the difficult journey.

Brendan wanted to give back to the charity and as a gifted carpenter, made reindeers out of timber, tree branches and golf balls. These proved very popular at Christmas time and he managed to raise €1,600 for the charity.

Unfortunately we lost Brendan very suddenly in April 2022, not long after he made his donation to Kerry Cancer Support Group. For his first anniversary in April 2023, we held a golf memorial day in Maine Valley Golf Club. 82 golfers took part and with the help of a raffle and online donation page, a further €16,000 went to Kerry Cancer Support Group in Brendan's honour.

Now as we approach the 2nd anniversary we are looking forward to hosting another golf memorial in Killorglin on April 27th. Prize giving and raffle will again take place that evening and we would like to include anyone who wishes to donate this year in the raffle on April 27th.

We have again experienced amazing generosity from neighbours, families, friends and local businesses and have some great prizes in store for both the golfers and raffle winners.

The top prizes for the raffle include a 2 night stay in The Rose Hotel, Tralee with dinner on a night of your choosing, A Remington Hydralux Pro Hairdryer from Tomo Burkes, a €150 photography voucher from Katie Marie Photography, a €150 voucher for Brownes Agri, Steel & Builders Providers, Castleisland thanks to Kieran Kelly Carpentry and a set of Onesonic Headphones from Pat Kearney Domestic Appliances. A list of all prizes are now posted on the facebook page which can be followed at - https://www.facebook.com/p/Brendan-Conroy-Golf-Memorial-100090594311860/

Thanks to all our doners for providing prizes for the golf tournament and raffle - O'Connor Coaches Castleisland, Brownes Agri, Steel & Builders Providers, Maldron Hotel South Mall Cork, Fleming Plant Hire, O Riadas, Pats Cafe, The Country Market, Mossie Butler, David Butler, Pat McGuire Plastering Contractor, Siobhan Griffin, Mike & Mary Dennehy, William Fleming & Shane O Sullivan, Karen Lynch, Mick Sheehan, John Brennan Barbers, FRS Network, Bart Hickey, Denis Dennehy and Maine Valley Members Golf Club Killorglin.

1 Raffle ticket can be purchased with a €5 donation and 3 tickets for a €10 donation.

All funds raised here will go directly to this great cause.

Best of luck to all golfers and raffle ticket holders on the 27th.

Many thanks for your continued support.
