I will be walking the Camino Frances in April, also known as St James Way, along with 14 amazing ladies & we have chosen to fundraise for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Cancer Care West. All funds raised here will go directly to these great local charities.

Our story started last year - I think during one of our Senior Strong classes, I had come back from a solo Camino, and a few ladies expressed interest, and the seed was sown - age is not a barrier if you can train and have a positive mental attitude. And that's exactly what we did, following a training plan to gradually increase the length & number of walks.

These ladies are truly inspirational, our age range is 40's, 50's, 60's & 70's - their challenge will be walking 125km + over 6 days!

Our Route will take us from:

Day 1 Sarria to Portomarin 22km

Day 2 Portomarin to Palas de Rei 22km

Day 3 Palas de Rei - Melide 15km

Day 4 Melide - Arzua 15km

Day 5 Arzua - O Pedrouzo 20km

Day 6 O Pedrouzo - Santiago de Compostela (St James Cathedral) 25km

This is a challenging route with roads, lanes & trails, some mighty hills, and the fatigue of walking day after day. I am immensely proud of the effort, dedication, and training these ladies have undertaken - and I hope they inspire others, that age is no barrier.
